What states do the Mardi Gras, besides New Orleans?
The city I live in plus the city next to us, are doing Mardi Gras now, with parades and necklace
throwing and drinking also. This is in Washington and Oregon across the river from each other. I
wondered if this is an isolated celebration of just the two cities, or are other areas besides New Or-
leans doing this also.
The location didn’t come out completely.
I meant to include Louisiana affer the
New Orleans.
I wondered how much this out of state
observance has spread. And how far
away from the traditional site.
My dearest friend is on a cruise and attending the Gay Mardi Gras in Australia, They advertise it as the largest in the world.
I had no idea they had one up there in G-d’s country too.

They have done it here in Oklahoma for the past few years, a parade at night and a few necklaces tossed to the crowd. Think it is just another gimmick to get some business here in the local restaurants and bars. There is a hotel tax and it is used for such promotions.

I thought it was a Catholic thing. I know, thumbs me down, but the Catholic church in my old neighborhood in Florida always had Mardi Gras parties in the bingo hall. Just sayin’.

the only place here that does Mardi Gras in in the bars.we dont even have a St.Pattys day parade here.

I have read that Mobile Alabama has an excellent Mardi Gras parade and festival.

Only New Orleans, Louisiana can have a Mardi Gras the way it is suppose to be. Others may try but never come close. Some other states call their "parades" carnivals. There is also a big fabulous "carnival" in Rio de Janeiro. In Washington,DC the senators and representatives from Louisiana would have a Mardi Gras celebration but I didn’t hear of any this year. No on can have a Mardi Gras like in New Orleans. Even New Orleans Super Bowl celebration parade was like no others.
