what are some good New Orleans / mardi gras themed songs i could play?

I was hired to go to a New Orleans themed costume party for Halloween and play my trumpet while the guests walk in ,and i need a few songs that would be good to play for about 30 minutes.

Search "Mardi Gras music" and there are many links.

What was your favorite thing to do in New Orleans?

Going in Nov…looking for recomendations on walking tours, great stuff not to miss, your favorite thing about your trip…perhaps unexpected or unplanned things that really ‘made’ your trip?
I have been before, but didn’t get to see and do enough. Thanks!

I love going to Magazine St. I try to go at least once a month. I’ll go with a friend or my mom, and we’ll go to Byblos (Mediterranean restaurant), then we’ll walk the couple of blocks to Sucre’ (cake and confections). Then maybe do some shopping at the second hand stores and antique malls. Its always a full day!

how much is a cab from Navy lodge in New Orleans to French quarter?

I wanna go to halloeen party on the 31st of Oct but hotels around french quarter are very expensive. Navy lodge is only $65 per night but its about 7miles away from French Quarter. Do you have any motels around french quarter around $100 or should I stay at navy lodge and catch a cam to french quarter?

Halloween has become like a one-night Mardi Gras and the only hotels still available downtown are expensive. Do check just before Halloween as hotels may have some cancellations. Any hotel in the French Quarter, Central Business District, Warehouse District or on Saint Charles Avenue uptown will be more convenient than staying at the Navy Lodge. Exception: The "Canal Street Hotel" on Canal Street used to be a Days Inn but has fallen on hard times (don’t stay there).

Call United Cab to ask about the cost of the ride:

Note that you only need to take a taxi to the ferry landing going to the FQ. However, the ferry stops running at Midnight and you will have to take a taxi all the way back unless you call it a night in time to catch the last one:

Hope you have a great time!
