Welcome to Sacramento. This city is California’s beautiful capital that showcases Victorian homes, shaded by leafy old trees in beautiful neighborhoods and the natural beauty of the river parks.
If you visit Sacramento and fail to have a luxurious limousine ride, then you have truly missed something. A limousine is like a mini home, where you can relax, listen to music or simply enjoy yourself sightseeing. But a limousine in Sacramento is like a carnival van, from where you can plan a date with two or more friends and have a party. Limousines in Sacramento will make your tours to California memorable. The city has a number of tourist attractions and traversing through the streets in a limo only adds to the comfort and luxury, making your holiday an affair to remember.
You can arrange for a sleek, comfortable limo to pick you up just before sunset. Well thats the best time possible, as Sacramento is the city to be at, at nightfall. The chauffeurs are dedicated and dress formally. You could begin the tour by asking the chauffer to take you to the Frasinetti’s Winery at 7395 Frasinetti Road. The winery is Italian and serves the best Italian wine in Sacramento. It is Sacramento’s oldest family owned and operated winery that was established in 1897. The winery is popular for blending old world traditions with improved methods of the present. Frasinetti offers free wine tasting and so dinner patrons can select the bottle. Frasinetti is best visited after sunset.
The blazing California sunset and Frasinetti wine should re-energize you. Then, you could ask the chauffeur to move towards the Mardi Gras Lane. Mardi Gras Lane has a bowling alley, where you can hang out with friends, clown around with your family, join a new league or club or just come in and meet some new people. Cruising to a bowling alley in a long, luxurious limousine would always make you a source of envy.
A limo tour can never be complete without a visit to a lounge. The Blue lamp Lounge at 1400 Alhambra Boulevard is one such place. The lounge provides privacy amidst live Blues Music with a low-lit ambience. This lounge is just one place, where you can relax and enjoy the rest of the night. Just in case, you overdo your lounging, you do have a professionally trained chauffeur to drive you back to your hotel room safely.
Nights do not stretch for twenty-four hours and your limo tour too comes to an end rather quickly. You can move around for some midnight shopping or take a small walk to any of Sacramento’s parks. The Limousine will take you just about anywhere in Sacramento. Sacramento is made memorable by its nightlife and the best way to enjoy the Sacramento nightlife is to hire a Limo. The services are available in plenty, all around town and at affordable prices. The experience of touring the city in a limousine is sure to make your visit memorable and picture perfect for the candid camera.

I'm going with my family including my 4yr old nephew, so im just looking for something inexpensive to do. I love the outdoors and found a swamp tour that looked like fun but it was too expensive. If you have any ideas on good restaurants and fun, outdoor stuff to do in the spring it would b great. thanks!
The first answer has some great suggestions.
Note that the Aquarium and the Zoo are both run by the Audubon Institute and they offer family memberships:

If you are downtown at the Aquarium you can take the ferry acroos the river and back for free:

I'm hoping a local can tell me briefly how Carnival is important to New Orleans residents. I'm writing a paper and need a little input from some residents, not necessarily tourists that just go there to get drunk. Also, maybe some traditions that you specifically have. Please state where you live, i.e. Chalmette, Gretna, or uptown New Orleans etc. Thank you!!!
I've lived in New Orleans all my life and the importance of Mardi Gras is mainly to have fun. Since it's our tradition, we make a big deal out of it and go all out. Since our Mardi Gras is so unique to other Mardi Gras and since it was the first in the US, people from all over come and it helps our economy. Mardi Gras is just a time to let go and have fun and while we're having fun we're helping our economy. I hope I helped you with your paper.
I will be visiting New Orleans in October and I am a huge fan of Anne Rice's vampire novels. I would love to see all the places featured in the novels but have been unsuccessful searching on the internet for a specific tour for them. All of the tours online are general vampire tours, not specifically for places in the novels. I want to see Rice's First Street home, St. Elizabeth's Orphanage and Lafayette Cemetery in particular. Can anyone suggest a specific tour to go on?
Anne Rice is no longer in New Orleans, nor are the tours with her name. Those tours ceased to exist a long time ago. If you want a vampire tour, go with Haunted History Tours. You can take a Garden District tour to see Lafayette Cemetery and Anne Rice's former home in that area. Her former residence is located at 1239 First Street, at Coliseum. St. Elizabeth's Orphanage is located on Napoleon Avenue, off St. Charles. It was sold several years ago, and there are NO tours that go there. If you are driving, from downtown, go up St. Charles till you get to Napoleon Ave. You cannot make a left turn on Napoleon from St. Charles, so you can cross Napoleon and then make a U-turn and then turn right on Napoleon. It's a divided street. St. Elizabeth's is 2 or 3 blocks from St. Charles, I believe the address is 1314 Napoleon. It's a big white mansion with a statue of some religious figure in front. If you are taking public transit, from downtown, take the St. Charles bus and get off at Napoleon Ave. and go to the side of Napoleon furthest away from you–cross St. Charles and head to your left, down Napoleon which is toward the river.
Go to: www.hauntedhistorytours.com and get more info on their tours. They go by Anne Rice's house on their tour. Please note: The Garden District/Lafayette Cemetery and the vampire tours are all walking tours only. You will NOT go inside any houses, as they are private residences. If you take the Garden District tour on any day except Sat. or Sun., you will get to go in the cemetery; I recommend going in the morning.

This is a small (4.5-in. by 6-in.) booklet published by Checker Air Conditioned Glass top Coaches for their tours of New Orleans, Louisiana. It’s undated, but probably from the 1930s or so and includes 14 pages of information on the city and its landmarks. Described are the city’s ‘charming contrasts,’ the St. Louis or Royal Hotel, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, Pontalba Buildings, The Cabildo, Old Ursulines Convent, The Haunted House, Mississippi River and Port, the Romance of John McDonogh, ‘Creole,’ Old St. Louis Cemetery and Mardi Gras — with its history and activities. A list of the major organizations sponsoring the parades is given. ‘New Orleans in 1828′ is described in a Colonel James R Creecy reading. The back cover notes that The Checker Way’s Nightlife Tour - Gay, Romantic, Colorful - is a ‘must’ for every visitor! Condition of this neat old-timer is Very Good, with no apparent defects. If you collect tour guides, bus company or New Orleans memorabilia - don’t miss this one! (1691)
